Projekt trvá už vyše dva a pol roka a v galérii bolo možné vidieť VŠETKY doposiaľ vytvorené kresby.
exhibition entitled ‘100 weeks’ in Jiri Svestka Gallery in Prague lasted until
27.07.2013. It is an output of the author’s long term project,
a strictly given task of making one drawing every day. Each of these works of
art consists of two components – a human head and text. The project began more than two and a half years ago and in the
gallery it was possible to see ALL of the previously created drawings. Twine
lines continuously stretched in exhibition rooms were gradually being filled
with new drawings produced in the course of the exhibition itself. Ostensibly trivial assignment
reflects through human heads and texts various situations and events, often
with a personal commentary or note, on the basis of hearsay, from newspapers or
books. Individual drawings ‘write’ an author’s diary, as one might say. Sometimes they reflect current issues and
situation in the Czech
Republic and in the
world, sometimes their source is Bohm’s personal background. A growing number of drawings during the time of the
exhibition indicates its continuation.
David Böhm is also well known for
his artistic collaborations with Jiří
Franta. In Prague, we met
them in person and agreed
on interesting cooperation. In the
second edition of X, you will
be able to enjoy the artwork
of this creative duo.
At the end of the
day we decided to stop at Vladimir Kokolia’s
home and in
his studio in Veverské Knínice. He is
currently preparing large
size paintings for an exhibition in China. We
brought him a copy
of the X magazine, an
essential part of which is his article
‘A View On Drawing’ – we are
again grateful for his contribution. Meeting
Mr Kokolia was a
great experience for us. We were
sitting on the divan in his garden gazebo under
the lantern light until the
sun went down, eating apricots and
talking about art of
drawing.
